To Preach or Not to Preach?
Learning Objectives
- Participants will learn to write actual stories as opposed to motivational/self-help stories. The lessons of real stories lie in undertones and not in overtones.
Navigating that thin line between the pulpit and the audience is a skill mastered only by the most sensitive of writers and people. As a writer of conflict stories, you have an obligation to allow your characters and your readers to follow the long road. Life must unfold in your story in much the same way it unfolds in reality. To get your message across to your reader, you must trust that they have what it takes to understand what is at stake in the unfolding story.

Good lesson
Interesting Knowledge
I’m blessed…
“Recognize the autonomy of the reader” that’s it. I will work on that on my works. I always try to impose the narrative on the readerπ€£ but never again. Thanks for the lessons.
π Now you know better, Dorcas! π
Appreciated.
Quite insightful
well said, good referencing , asante!
In-depth. Well done Nabeelah.
Not to preach because every story is autonomous hence allowing the message or story to flow naturally will work best and set you apart.
Your lack of preaching will also make your stories more relatable as people won’t feel judged and condemned by you.
Preaching basically kills your intended purpose for your story.
Absolutely correct!
How the story is told allows the reader to decide what’s true. Thanks for the wonderful lesson ππ
You’re welcome, Mr. Hashim.

Sorry about that. We used a 3rd party host in order to reduce issues of buffering but incidences of this are inevitable, sadly, with our fluctuating bandwidth speeds.
Wow! Thank you!
